In 2007, IDAMAP is in
Amsterdam, collocated with AIME 2007. While the call for
papers has already been closed, you are most welcome to attend the
workshop.
Intelligent
data analysis (IDA) and data mining (DM) are recently
emerging and very active fields of research. While IDA
and DM methods have been extensively applied for
industrial and business applications, their
utilization in medicine and health-care is sparse. The
main goal of the IMIA Workgroup is to increase the
awareness and acceptance of these methods in medical
community. The aim of the Workgroup is to provide an
umbrella for scientific discussion and dissemination
of new knowledge on data-mining and AI-based methods
for data analysis and data mining techniques applied
to medicine. It also tries to promote the development
of the standardized platforms and solutions. The
Workgroup provides a forum for presentation
of successful IDA and DM implementations in medicine,
and discussion of best practices in introduction of
these techniques in medical and health-care
information and decision support systems.
The Workgroup
officially become a part of IMIA on
August 26th, 2000 at IMIA General Assembly.
Although the Workgroup is very young, its members have
previously collaborated in number of common projects
and activities, of which most notably are IDAMAP
workshop that take place every year. List of IDAMAP
workshops, as well as other related activites, is available.
