&lt;span class="postbody"&gt;This last one is indeed a bug for systems with python2.6 installed and no python2.5 available. Deb installation succeeds but library cannot be imported to python, as it is unavailable.

&lt;span class="postbody"&gt;GML file format is now supported in NetworkFile and NetExplorer widgets. Network data can since be easily interchanged with Cytoscape. &lt;span class="postbody"&gt;Could you make the installation somehow independent of the python version? I use 2.6 as a default, and orange worked well with 2.6. However the package installes it to the 2.5 dist-package folder, which is apparently not recognized by the 2.6 python interpreter.

&lt;span class="postbody"&gt;GUI (canvas) is in the other package. Every Orange component (and also the main thing) is split into two packages so that it is possible to install without GUI (and thus without all GUI dependencies) on systems where you want pure computation (like grids and similar).
